The Association of American Railroads (AAR) is the industry association of the major freight railroads of North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States). In order to supply to this market, you have to be approved by the AAR. For this purpose, an annual audit is carried out in accordance with the M 1003 standard. This is the quality management standard that prescribes which organizational requirements have to be met in order to be approved as a supplier.
